*Sometimes you need to take a break from writing and move to something that's also creatively satisfying, but high in calories. My most recent bout of cooking fever was inspired by two books. Last January, I fell in love with and blogged about Erica Bauermeister's The School of Essential Ingredients http://midlifepassions.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html Now, its luscious sequel, The Lost Art of Mixing, propelled me back into the kitchen, and Nancy Baggett's All-American Dessert Book provided the recipe for a summer fruit cobbler (visit Nancy's blog http://www.kitchenlane.com/)that was a sweet hit at a dinner party this weekend.

ReplyDeleteLots of good news for you--many congratulations. I'd be curious to listen to see if the "reader" read the lines in my book the same way I wrote them. (But since I do mainly cookbooks, I don't think I'll ever get a chance to hear the words!)

Your recipes are easy to follow, Nancy. I'm not a seasoned (forgive the pun) cook, so that's a real plus for me. And they're consistent--which indicates to me that they are tested and re-tested and attention is paid to detail.

ReplyDeleteRebecca, I did not have input into who was to do the narration. Penguin Random house made the arrangements and I'd think your editor would be the one to do that.
